Several years ago God spoke a specific word to Michelle and I. He said, ‘Revisit the foundations.’ Initially this was in relation to the traumatic and painful legacy which has been created among the indigenous peoples of the world due to a distorted view of Christ’s Great Commission. However, I believe God’s message to us also had a much wider application.
Here in the West, our Christian foundations which previous generations fought to put in place have been under attack. This has been intentional and systematic. Sadly, much of the Church has been like the proverbial frog in the pan. The water has gradually been getting hotter and the radical and destructive changes have gradually crept upon us. As the Church we need to urgently wake-up and counter this trend with an intentional application and demonstration of God’s Kingdom on Earth.
Dawning of a New Dark Age
In 1975 the New Age movement officially went public. Helena Petrova Blavatsky, a nineteenth-century Russian emigrant to the USA, is generally accorded with being the founder of the modern New Age movement. She predicted that her teaching would go underground for one hundred years, emerging in 1975 to form the basis for the new age which would soon dawn.
A Destructive 10 Point Discipleship Plan
Blavatsky’s disciple, Alice Bailey (1880-1949), has been more influential in planning New Age strategy. Raised by relatives in a protective environment and following a very difficult and abusive marriage, Alice Bailey left England for the United States. Here she discovered the Theosophical Society and the work of Blavatsky. Years later she became the President of the Theosophical Society. Bailey claimed to receive her ‘inspiration’ from an eighth century Tibetan monk who channelled spiritual revelation to her through a spirit she called a Master of Wisdom. This spirit offered her great success, if she could yield herself to be used to cheat the nations of the world.[i] She obliged and her writings were published by the Lucifer Publishing Company, later becoming the Lucis Trust which is today the major organisation promoting New Age ideology, along with its action-arm ‘World Goodwill’, an official NGO within the United Nations.[ii]
Dethroning God and Christianity
Bailey taught a form of universal spirituality that transcended denominational identification, believing that, ‘Every class of human beings is a group of brothers. Catholics, Jews, Gentiles, Occidentals (Westerners) and Orientals (Easterners) are all the sons of God.’ She stated that all religions originate from the same spiritual source, and that humanity will eventually come to realise this, and as they do so, the result will be the emergence of a universal world religion and a ‘new world order.’[iii] This new world order was to come about through a Ten-Point plan or strategy primarily directed at Europe and North America, where the Bible had already brought about national transformation. Its stated purpose was ‘to change Christian tradition or redeem the nations of Christian tradition,’ with the ultimate objective of dethroning God and Christianity.
Strategic Targeting of the 7 Key Sectors of Society
Of particular note is that the strategy (also referred to as the Revelatory Plan after 1975) targeted seven major fields of work which are very similar to the Seven Spheres of Society that God highlighted to Christian leaders Loren Cunningham and Bill Bright in 1975, necessary for discipling a nation.
- Take God and prayer out of the educational system (EDUCATION)
- Reduce parental authority over their children (FAMILY)
- Destroy the Judeo-Christian family structure or the traditional Christian family structure (by promoting sexual promiscuity and by using the media and advertising to promote sex) (FAMILY/MEDIA/ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT)
- If sex is free, then make abortion legal and accessible (FAMILY)
- Make divorce easy and legal, free people from the concept of marriage for life (FAMILY)
- Make homosexuality an alternative lifestyle (FAMILY)
- Debase art (including painting, music, drama, and films) (ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT)
- Use media to promote and change mindset (MEDIA)
- Create an interfaith movement (CHURCH & RELIGION)
- Get governments to make all these laws and get the church to endorse these changes. (GOVERNMENT/CHURCH & RELIGION)
Church Wake-up Call!
Today, we are witnessing the near completion of this strategic plan through the United Nations with many Western governments having adopted much of it into law. It should serve as a wake-up call for the Church to see the changes that have taken place within Western society over the past seventy years in relation to the above list. Although they view their strategy as being successful in the West, having realised that Christianity has migrated to the non-Western world, the leaders of the New Age movement are now directing resources to the effective targeting of non-Western nations.[iv]
What Can You Do for God and His Kingdom?
It was U.S. president John F. Kennedy who said, ‘Ask not what your country can do for you; but, what you can do for your country.’ This could be rephrased as, ‘Ask not what God can do for you; but, what you can do for God and His Kingdom.’ There has never been a time such as now for God’s people to be envisioned, equipped and commissioned into their spheres of influence with the truth and power of the gospel of the Kingdom!
Jesus told His followers to teach and disciple the nations, and spread His new world order (the Kingdom of God) on Earth. After former generations of believers had done well to lay a foundation and shape the West with Christian values and principles, in recent decades we have to acknowledge that the tide has turned. The Church has largely retreated, lost its voice and influence, and counterfeit kingdoms of darkness have advanced their agendas in discipling the nations instead. It is high time for the Church to rise up and strategically engage with Christ’s Kingdom Commission once again.
